hotelPlease join us for our 20th anniversary conference as we return to the Wyndham Hotel in sunny Virginia Beach. The conference will be May 18-19 with many extra activities available on Monday May 17, including the annaul VRA Golf Tournament - see all the details below.

You may register for the conference online and pay for all activities via credit card with our secure PayPal shopping cart or download and complete the paper registration form and send it in to VRA.  Save $50 by registering before the March 31 early-bird deadline.  Make hotel reservations by April 24.

Lodging Information
The 2010 VRA Conference will be held at the Wyndham Virginia Beach Oceanfront. Room rates range from $129 - $259 per room. Please contact the Wyndham directly to coordinate lodging for the conference. Remember to ask for the “Virginia Recycling Association” rate when making reservations. You must book your room by April 24 to guarantee the room block rate. Hotel amenities include high-speed Internet access in all rooms, fitness center, indoor/outdoor pool and the Surf Club Ocean Grill.

Membership Special
Save $25 off VRA membership when renewing or initiating a membership as a conference attendee.  You will also save $50 on the conference registration rate. 

To check you current membership status, please login to the VRA Web site if you are an existing member. This link will log you in and return you to this screen. If you have forgotten your Password, enter your Username to have your password e-mailed to you.  Username is typically first initial and last name, i.e. jsmith.  Once you return to this screen, use this link once you have sucessfully logged in to view your membership expiration date or contact vra@vrarecycles.org. After viewing your status, close window to return to this screen.

VRA Golf Tournament - May 17
Join industry colleagues in a friendly golf tournament at the Red Wing Lake golf course. Play is Captain’s Choice. Shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. May 17. The cost is $60 per player which includes cart, greens fee, range balls, lunch, 2 drinks and tax.  You may pay for the tournament online, but you must still fill out your golf details on the registration form and send or FAX in to VRA.

Optional Dinners, Cultural Tours, Workshops 
There is a separate paper registration form for these events, or you may or you may register and pay online when signing up for the conference, or you may add them online and pay after you have signed up for the conference

  • Electronics Workshop– Evolved E-Cycling -- Free to conference attendees. $20 for just the workshop. 1 to 4 p.m. on Monday, May 17. This workshop will focus on how to identify a reputable electronics recycler who follows good practices from start to finish with several new resources. EPA’s accredited certification for e-cycling vendors, the R2 program, as well as "best case" practices of several e-cycling vendors, and tips from experienced recycling coordinators. Topics will include exports, new laws in place that affect e-cycling, and using green procure-
  • Dinner on Monday, May 17, at Croc’s 19th St. Bistro
    Join colleagues for dinner at Croc’s, known for being a green leader in the restaurant industry. $35
  • Additional Cocktail Reception Tickets for Tuesday, May 18 
  • Sailing Excursion on Monday, May 17, at 1:00 (space limited)
    Snacks and soft drinks are included on this 2 hour sail on the Atlantic. Space is limited. $65
  • Self-guided tour at the Virginia Aquarium and Lunch Monday, May 17
    This self guided tour will allow you to explore the award-winning aquarium. Includes lunch, tour pass and transportation. $25
  • Tour of the historic Adam Thoroughgood House Monday, May 17
    Built in 1680 the house is one of the oldest houses from early Colonial period and provides insight into the lifestyle of the gentry in Princess Anne County. $5
